We’re excited to announce that Edwin has been announced as a finalist for the 3rd Keuris Composers’ Contest with his piece “Overture to the Proms”.
The Keuris Composers’ Contest is named after Tristan Keuris (1946 – 1996); one of the leading Dutch composers after World War 2. His music was inspired by nature and serenity. The Keuris Composers’ Competition is a biannual competition, designed to promote compositions for the youth, as well as enabling interaction between professional musicians and talented amateurs.
This year there were a total of 97 entrants from 35 countries. After 6 rounds of judging, only six pieces will be performed in the finalists’ concert.
Edwin’s piece will be performed at a finalists’ concert on 12th May in Amersfoort, Netherlands, at which the winner will be announced.
“Overture to the Proms” recently also made it to the final of the English Schools’ Orchestra Composing Contest, judged by a panel of Richard Sisson, Scott Stroman and Edward Gregson.
